New Season Tuscany Olive Oil

This short film follows the harvesting and processing of small-scale olive oil production in the Tuscan hills, Italy. We shot it for a UK entrepreneurial importer of New Season oil, a fine and scarce delicacy that is taken for granted by locals, but finds itself on the top shelf of UK supermarkets! We meet Donato, a typical local small-holder and Paulo, the manager of a local olive oil and Chianti estate. The documentary shows their different perspectives as we see locals using the community pressing mill and then Paulo shows us around the Badia a Coltibuono bottling plant. Shot over three days in November we see this stunning part of the world in the off-season when the tourists have left and the landscape changes colour.
